Thinking of insulating your home or doing a retrofit but worried about costs? Good news — the Irish Government (through SEAI – Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) offers generous grants to make it affordable. Read below for our easy, step-by-step guide!
Before you apply, take note of the following:
Insulation Grants → Your home must have been built before 2011.

Apply for single upgrades (attic insulation, cavity wall insulation, internal/external wall insulation).
You pay for the work upon completion, then SEAI refunds you after the job is done.
Example grant amounts:
Attic Insulation: €800–€1,500
Cavity Wall Insulation: €700–€1,700

Fully funded by SEAI for low-income households.
Covers insulation, draught-proofing, and sometimes heating upgrades.
Completely free of charge if you qualify.

Choose a registered SEAI contractor (Keating Insulation is registered – Registration Number 10015).
Get the work done to SEAI standards.
Have a BER Rating carried out on your home. Submit your grant paperwork to SEAI.
Receive your grant payment straight to your bank account.
Need extra funds beyond the grant? The Government also supports a low-interest Home Energy Upgrade Loan (from €5,000 up to €75,000, repayable over up to 10 years).
